island getaway

On wednesday last week,i went with my family to chek jawa.We left home at about 2pm so that we could catch the low tide.Chek jawa is a 100-hectare wetland situated on the south-eastern tip of Pulau Ubin, and is an island off the north-eastern coast of the main island of Singapore. Chek Jawa is among the last few places left with a natural rocky shore.My family took a bumboat from the changi jetty,each ticket costs $2.50.When we reached the ubin jetty we went to rent a bicycle each.If you want to get to chek jawa from the ubin jetty you need to either rent a bike,walk or take a van.From my point of view,renting a bicycle is the best choice.However you have to be very careful because there are no proper pavements for you to cycle on,you have to cycle on rocky roads.

The boat is really runned down

Its real but the bikes are not as good as those $4 ones.

There are a few uphill slopes sometimes its way too tiring to ride up so we had to dismount our bikes.

I saw a hornbill it has a bright yellow beak.It was my first time seeing it in the wild,usually i only see them in books.I know you can't see it from the picture i did not manage to take it because it keep moving.Photographers who take photos of animals seriously need to be really patient.

Orange ixoras.somehow i like taking close up shots,don't ask me why because i don't know too hahah.

There are loads of large rocks on the beach.No one is suppose to go to the shore actually but my dad said :"just go down then can see more things"My dad loves nature obviously he cannot resist not going to the shore.

i like to touch this coral it feels like jelly,i know i'm random heh.

it might look like any other rock coverved with moss.however,when you look close enough you can see see tiny crabs and lots of barnacles.

Me:omg so cool i want to take a picture of it*ons the camera and took a pic of it*

Dad:*takes a good look of it*Hahaha!its actually a roll cotton!

Everyone then started laughing...epic fail!!!

spot the fiddle crabs their pincer is orange in colour,they only have only one pincer unlike other crabs that have two.
